Indications, Safety, and WarningsIndications for useThe Mazor X™ system is indicated for precise positioning of surgical instruments or spinal implants during general spinal surgery. It may be used in either open or minimally invasive or percutaneous procedures.Mazor X™ 3-D imaging capabilities provide a processing and conversion of 2-D fluoroscopic projections from standard C-arms into volumetric 3-D images. It is intended to be used whenever the clinician and/or patient benefits from generated 3-D imaging of high-contrast objects. The Mazor X™ navigation tracks the position of instruments, during spinal surgery, in relation to the surgical anatomy and identifies this position on diagnostic or intraoperative images of a patient.Residual risksThe potential complications for Mazor X™ sacroiliac thoracolumbar procedures identified by Medtronic include, but are not limited to: General surgical complications, pain, inflammation, insufficient treatment, infection, tissue or bone damage, bleeding or blood loss, hematoma, electric shock, cerebrospinal fluid leakage or fistula, brain or nerve damage, permanent or transient neurological deficit, visual impairment, death.ContraindicationsDo not use the Mazor X™ system with any patient who has been diagnosed or is suspected of having Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD).

Midas Rex™ Mazor™ attachments and tools

Starting with pilot hole creation and advancing into bone removal, Midas Rex™ Mazor™ attachments and tools are designed to minimize the potential for skiving at speeds of up to 75,000 rpm.

Stealth Midas™ drill system

The Stealth Midas™ high-speed drill system has a permanently attached tracker that allows for the intraoperative navigation and real-time visualization of the Midas™ tool. It also features a locking mechanism that rotates to tighten the connection between the attachment and the motor to ensure navigation stays accurate throughout the case.
