The TYRX™ envelope is recommended for the WRAP-IT Study population and for patients with high risk factors.
International consensus document recommends TYRX Envelope to reduce CIED infection1
Note: Considerations for patient selection include use of TYRX to hold a CIED securely in order to provide a stable environment.

How it works:
Prevention of Arrhythmia Device Infection Trial Calculator
Predict risk of implantable electronic device infection using a novel infection risk score (PADIT).
Science has led to the development of the PADIT risk infection calculator, the first-ever tool of its kind to help physicians and patients make better, more-informed decisions about cardiovascular implantable electronic device (CIED) therapy. Researchers say they have determined five independent predictors of device infection: Prior procedure, Age, Depressed renal function, Immunocompromised, and Type of procedure.
How it works
The PADIT Calculator assigns weighted points to patients based on the ‘tell-tale’ characteristics of their procedure and elements of their personal medical history. It then determines one’s level of risk based on the total number of accumulated points (one can amount as many as 14 total points).
- Scoring fewer than four (4) points: A patient is deemed at lowest risk for infection.
- Scoring between five (5) and six (6) points: A patient is deemed at moderate or intermediate risk.
- Scoring seven (7) or above: A patient is deemed at a high-risk of developing a serious infection.
How it works:
Predict the risk of cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) infection within 12 months of a procedure using the BLISTER risk score. The BLISTER score was developed using data from more than 12,000 CIED procedures and validated across multiple centers to identify patients at increased risk of infection. The tool is intended to support clinical decision making and help identify patients who may benefit from enhanced infection prevention strategies, including use of an antimicrobial envelope.
The BLISTER Calculator assigns weighted points based on patient characteristics, laboratory results, and procedural factors associated with CIED infection risk. The total score ranges from 0 to 25 points, with higher scores indicating a greater likelihood of developing a device-related infection within 12 months of the procedure.
- BLISTER score < 6 points: Patient is considered at relatively low risk of CIED infection.
- BLISTER score ≥ 6 points: Patient is considered at elevated risk of infection and may derive greater benefit from additional preventive measures such as an antimicrobial envelope.
- Higher scores: Reflect progressively greater infection risk and warrant careful clinical assessment and infection mitigation planning.
