Cardiac surgery
Product portfolio
Medtronic cardiac surgery is your strategic partner with an unmatched portfolio of solutions.
Designed for simplicity and performance, the VitalFlow™ ECMO system can be configured to accommodate your clinical preferences and hospital protocols.1
Built on the Avalus™ platform that leads in evidence and excels in performance — the Avalus Ultra™ valve facilitates ease at implant2 and is designed to deliver long-term durability with its industry-leading EOAs3,4 and circular design engineered for lifetime patient management.
The Penditure™ device is used for the exclusion of the left atrial appendage in patients undergoing a concomitant cardiac surgery procedure. It is the only LAA clip that can be recaptured, repositioned, and redeployed after deployment during a procedure, putting greater control in the hands of surgeons.5
The Crescent™ RA catheter is a right atrial-designed dual lumen catheter available in sizes 13, 15, and 19 Fr.
The Crescent™ catheter is a bicaval-designed dual lumen catheter available in sizes 24, 26, 28, 30, and 32 Fr. Used for long-term ECMO.
The Nautilus™ ECMO oxygenator with Balance™ biosurface, featuring a circular flow-path design, is ready to be incorporated into an ECMO circuit.
The Nautilus™ Smart ECMO oxygenator module combines the function of an oxygenator with integrated monitors that display real-time device performance data.
The Opus™ vascular access kit offers a convenient solution for the access you need.
The VitalFlow™ ECMO system provides control of blood pumping through an extracorporeal circuit during extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) procedures.
The Cardioblate™ BP2 device uses irrigated bipolar radiofrequency (RF) energy to provide surgeons with a means to ablate cardiac tissue in surgical procedures.
The Cardioblate™ CryoFlex™ surgical ablation console is the command center for the CryoFlex™ surgical ablation system.
Cardioblate™ CryoFlex™ probes are used to freeze target tissue and block electrical conduction pathways, creating inflammatory response and cryonecrosis.
The Cardioblate™ Gemini™-s, featuring a malleable neck, is a bipolar irrigated radio-frequency MICS device.
The Cardioblate™ LP device uses irrigated bipolar radiofrequency (RF) energy to provide surgeons with a means to ablate cardiac tissue.
The Cardioblate™ surgical ablation pen reaches areas of the heart that are difficult to ablate with a bipolar clamp.
The Valleylab™ FT10 energy platform drives our full portfolio of energy-based devices for use in a wide range of procedures.
Bio-Medicus™ NextGen arterial and venous cannulae, intended for peripheral placement, are available in sizes appropriate for adult and pediatric patients.
The autoLog IQ™ autotransfusion system is an adaptable autotransfusion system that delivers a consistently high-quality blood product automatically.

With every beat, expect more.
Potential complications related to the use of ECMO devices include, but are not limited to, heart, vessel, or lung damage, hypoxia, anemia, irritation, toxic reaction, infection, hemorrhage, liver or kidney failure, stroke, and death. The benefits of extracorporeal support must be weighed against the risk of systemic anticoagulation and must be assessed by the prescribing physician.
Surgical valve replacement risks may include infection, surgical complications, stroke, endocarditis and death.
Possible complications related to the use of Penditure™ LAA exclusion system in combination with open heart surgery are: bleeding, tissue damage, thromboembolism, and pericardial effusion.
