A single-device approach

This is an icon of a stopwatch.

The MVP™ device offers a one-device approach with immediate occlusion.1,2 This reduces procedure time and radiation exposure.1,2

This is an icon of a graph with a money symbol and an arrow pointing down, indicating lower costs.

The use of the MVP™ device can result in cost savings.2 It typically eliminates the need for multiple devices and minimizes need of reintervention, due to its low recanalization rates.2

The MVP™ device provides a smooth and controlled procedure.1 It brings a combination of carefully engineered design features.

Limited presence of metal means minimal CT artifacts†,3

Patient story

Marianne’s story on treating her hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT)

Marianne was diagnosed with HHT in 1994 where she first learned about the disease and what it meant for her. Embolization treatment with the MVP™ device allowed her to increase her day-to-day quality of life while decreasing her risk of stroke.

Frequently asked questions

The MVP™ device’s primary advantage over coils is the number of devices required to achieve full vascular occlusion; often only one MVP™ device is needed while multiple coils would typically be required.1 Compared to other devices, MVP™ device has a lower persistence rate and may be able to mitigate additional procedures related to reintervention and, therefore, associated costs.5

Typically one MVP™ device is sufficient to achieve strong and durable vessel occlusion as compared to multiple Amplatzer™* vascular plugs or coils.6

Innovative device design features, including increased control and immediate occlusion due to the PTFE partial covering, allows for less time spent in the operating room.2

The MVP™ micro vascular plug was determined to be MR Conditional. Nonclinical testing demonstrated that the MVP™ micro vascular plug device is MR Conditional. A patient with this device can be scanned safely, immediately after placement under the following conditions:

  • Static magnetic field of 3 Tesla or less
  • Maximum spatial gradient magnetic field of 9,000 Gauss/cm or less
  • Maximum MR system reported, whole body averaged specific absorption rate (SAR) of 4 W/kg for 15 minutes of scanning (i.e., per pulse sequence)
  • First Level Controlled Operating Mode for the MR system
