Mike Marinaro

Executive Vice President and President
Medical Surgical Portfolio, Americas, and Global Commercial Operations




Mike is Executive Vice President and President of the Medical Surgical Portfolio, which is comprised of the Acute Care & Monitoring, Endoscopy, and Surgical Operating Units. He also holds enterprise responsibility for commercial operations in Latin America and Canada, U.S. Enterprise Accounts, and Global Commercial Operations. Collectively, these groups generate more than $18 billion in annual revenue. Mike is a member of the company’s Executive Committee and serves on the Medtronic Foundation Board.


With more than 25 years at Medtronic, Mike has built a reputation as a results-oriented leader known for driving growth and innovation to deliver better care for patients.

Mike has played a central role advancing the Medtronic surgical and robotics strategy alongside broader investment in AI-powered technologies. This includes integrating core surgical technologies with robotic-assisted platforms and scaling the Hugo™ robotic-assisted surgery system with the Touch Surgery™ ecosystem, expanding patient access to the benefits of minimally invasive surgery. He also led the creation of the Acute Care & Monitoring Operating Unit, uniting the legacy Patient Monitoring and Respiratory Interventions businesses into a streamlined, growth-focused organization. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President and President of the Surgical Operating Unit and led the Surgical Robotics Operating Unit.

Mike began his Medtronic career in the field, representing and managing U.S. Coronary and Peripheral sales teams, later taking on broader roles across cardiovascular businesses. He then led the Cardiac Rhythm Management Division overseeing four business units focused on diagnosing, treating, and managing cardiac rhythm disorders and heart failure. Under his leadership, the division launched groundbreaking technologies including the Micra™ transcatheter pacing system, created the Aurora EV-ICD™ system, significantly expanded use of the TYRX™ Absorbable Antibacterial Envelope, and accelerated Medtronic growth in China.

Mike is recognized for empowering his teams and is deeply committed to employee development and engagement. His dedication to people and culture has been recognized at Medtronic, including induction into President's Club and selection for the Star of Excellence, Wallin Leadership, and Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Engagement awards.

Before joining Medtronic, Mike held roles at pharmaceutical and medical device companies. He received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Boston College.
