The PTeye™ system is a first of its kind dye-free intraoperative, probe-based technology which aids surgeons in the identification of parathyroid tissue by confirming parathyroid tissue already visually located by the surgeon real-time during thyroid and parathyroid surgery. 1, 2
Parathyroid tissue can be difficult to distinguish visually from surrounding tissue during surgery. To preserve healthy tissue during surgical treatment of parathyroid disease, devices are used to assist in the imaging of parathyroid glands. The PTeye™ parathyroid detection system uses a laser probe to elicit a fluorescent response from parathyroid tissue without the use of a contrast agent.2
