FIND A DBS SPECIALIST

When you’re ready to start the conversation, look for a neurologist who specializes in treating epilepsy. An epileptologist is a neurologist with extra training and experience in epilepsy treatments. When talking with your doctor, be honest about your symptoms and how your treatment is working.

Get started by searching for a level 4 epilepsy center using the NAEC finder tool.

TALK TO SOMEONE WHO HAS DBS

Talk one-on-one with someone who has DBS for epilepsy. Ask the questions that only people living with DBS therapy can answer, such as:

  • What’s the DBS surgery like?
  • What does stimulation feel like?
  • Why did you choose DBS therapy?
  • How has your life changed?
