Telephone companies are updating their cellular networks, which your MyCareLink monitor relies on to send your implanted heart device data to your clinic. To ensure your monitor is compatible with these updated networks, Medtronic is providing a free USB Cellular Stick to connect to your monitor, allowing you to continue sending your implanted heart device data to your clinic. This upgrade does not affect the normal operation of your implanted heart device. Proceed with upcoming transmissions as planned until you receive your free USB Cellular Stick.

You should connect your free USB Cellular Stick to your MyCareLink monitor right when you receive the package in the mail to ensure you remain connected. Please note your free USB Cellular Stick must remain connected to your monitor at all times to maintain connectivity.
Your MyCareLink monitor should look like the image. The cell signal icon may show that you are connected to a 2G, 3G, or 4G network. You will also see an icon of the free USB Cellular Stick with a green checkmark. You do not need to send a transmission to your clinic to complete the setup process.
No action is needed after you have connected the USB Cellular Stick to your MyCareLink monitor. After connecting your USB Cellular Stick, be sure to keep it connected at all times. This upgrade does not affect the normal operation of your implanted heart device.

To ensure your monitor is compatible with these updated networks, Medtronic is providing a free telephone cord to connect to your monitor. You may use the free telephone cord or an extra telephone cord you have in your home. This upgrade does not affect the normal operation of your implanted heart device. Proceed with upcoming transmissions as planned until you receive your free telephone cord.

Once you have received a telephone cord from Medtronic, disconnect the WireX accessory and connect your CareLink 2490 monitor to a telephone jack. Use the telephone cord in this package or one you already have at your home to connect the monitor to a working telephone jack, then test your connection. Once you have completed these steps and tested your connection, no further action is needed.
No, we do not expect you to lose your connection before receiving the free telephone cord. You may lose connection in the future if you do not connect the telephone cord to your monitor and test your connection once you receive it in the mail.
1. Press and hold the Start/Stop or Power button. Continue holding the Start/Stop or Power button until you reach Step 4.
2. The Power Status and Reading Status will flash a green light for 10 seconds.
3. The monitor light will jump to the Telephone Line Status section.
4. Release the Start/Stop or Power button when you see this.
5. Your monitor will dial out to test the connection.
6. When you see the bullseye light up, you have successfully connected.
You do not need to send a transmission to your clinic to complete the setup process.
After you have connected your monitor to the telephone jack, you will need to test your connection. After you follow the instructions to test your connection and see the bullseye light up, no further action is needed. Your monitor will continue normal operation.
