Stents (Heart)

A stent is a tiny, expandable, mesh-like tube made of a metal such as stainless steel or cobalt alloy. Stents are used to restore blood flow in the coronary artery to a near-normal rate.

For Coronary Artery Disease

Coronary artery disease is a type of heart disease that causes an inadequate supply of blood to the heart muscle – a potentially damaging condition. As fatty deposits build up inside your arteries, you may become short of breath or have chest pains. These pains can sometimes be mistaken for indigestion or heartburn. For both men and women, coronary artery disease is the leading cause of death. A stent may help improve blood flow to the heart muscle.
