    Your body controls blood pressure in many ways. Your heart and blood vessels are involved, as well as your kidneys.1 In some people, the nerves connected to the kidneys are excessively active, interrupting the natural process of control, thus leading to high blood pressure.2 The Symplicity™ procedure calms these nerves, a process called renal denervation.3

    Proven to help reduce blood pressure, the Symplicity™ procedure works alongside typical high blood pressure treatments like lifestyle changes and medications.4,5

    Two clinical studies showed that within six months, the Symplicity™ procedure lowered blood pressure in people both on and off blood pressure medications.†,‡,4–6

    • 65% of participants saw at least a 5 mmHg drop.
    • 50% saw at least a 10 mmHg drop.
    • 35% saw at least a 15 mmHg drop.

    What are the risks of the Symplicity™ procedure?

    As with any minimally invasive procedure, the Symplicity™ blood pressure procedure does have known risks. These risks should be considered in relation to the potential benefits of the procedure. Clinical trial results show no impact to kidney function.§,8

    Side effects can include headache, back pain, and access site issues like bruising or hematoma. In very rare cases, blood vessel injury or narrowing may occur. Blood pressure is monitored after the procedure and medications may need to be adjusted by your healthcare team over time.

    The procedure is performed in a hospital. Some people go home the same day. Others stay overnight. Your doctor will decide what is right for you.
