VIEW MARKETING RESOURCESThe most common adverse events experienced include pain at implant sites, new pain, lead migration, infection, technical or device problems, adverse change in bowel or voiding function, and undesirable stimulation or sensations. Any of these may require additional surgery or cause return of symptoms.
Complications can occur with the evaluation, including tissue damage, infection, and technical problems with the device. Patients should be instructed on operating the programmer and given precautions related to the evaluation.
Conducted by an independent laboratory, this battery bench testing yields data that emphasizes Medtronic Overdrive™ technology’s indisputable quality and performance over Axonics® traditional lithium-ion batteries. This testing was designed to examine true battery behavior, beyond device level features, for robust system performance under overdischarge. The study included five InterStim™ Micro batteries and two batteries removed from new Axonics® stimulators. Overdischarge was induced via a slow constant current discharge to 0V, followed by a one week hold at 0V. Cells were characterized by 50, 0%-100% state-of-charge cycles, as defined by their respective manufacturers’ specifications.1
