Become an Ambassador Resources

TELL OTHERS ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE

If you spoke with an ambassador before you had surgery for a cervical fusion or artificial cervical disc, you know how assuring it can be to talk with someone who’s had neck surgery. Now that you’re on the other side of that experience, you have the chance to help others.

The Ambassador Program connects people considering cervical fusion or cervical disc replacement with people like you who have a Medtronic artificial cervical disc.

HOW THE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM WORKS

Anyone considering cervical fusion or disc replacement can apply online to request a conversation with an ambassador. That prospective patient chooses an ambassador and requests the day and time when he or she would like to talk.

We will send you an email with the person’s contact information and requested call time. You log onto the ambassador portal to accept or decline the appointment. We send the person an email confirming the call. You call at the appointment time.  All ambassadors are provided with a Medtronic cell phone to use.

As an ambassador, you will be able to manage your schedule and availability through the ambassador portal. Conversations with patients typically last from 20 to 30 minutes.

In preparation for becoming an ambassador, you will complete an education/training module and will receive a welcome kit with important information.

WHAT KIND OF QUESTIONS DO CALLERS ASK?

People may ask questions like:

  • How did you know this was the right option for you?
  • What was the surgery like?
  • How did you feel after the surgery?
  • How did it impact your daily routine?

Please keep in mind that ambassadors' comments about artificial disc replacement relate to their experiences only. As with any treatment, individual results will vary. The caller should talk with a physician about appropriate treatment options.

ABOUT THE AMBASSADORS

Ambassadors are people just like you who have volunteered to talk with others about their personal experiences with the Medtronic artificial cervical disc.

Ambassadors:

  • Have been living with the Medtronic artificial cervical disc for at least 6 months
  • Share their personal experiences honestly and answer questions
  • Do not offer medical advice or technical support
  • Are volunteers and are not compensated for their time
  • Will speak candidly about their experience

HOW TO SIGN UP

The first step to becoming an ambassador is to register online. We’ll be in touch within a few weeks in regard to the selection process. We have a limited number of ambassador roles available and not all who apply will be selected to participate. Thank you for being willing to help others!
