Yes. It is important to ensure that the jaws remain fully closed when using the seal and/or cut function with the LigaSure™ RAS Maryland jaw vessel sealer.

If the jaws are not fully closed, the energy status module will only display outlined boxes in their respective colors, indicating that the instrument is not yet ready for energy activation (see below).6

The below visual confirmation will appear on the screen when proper jaw closure is achieved before energy is applied.6
