Our Corporate PHILANTHROPY COMMITMENT

We engage in a range of philanthropic activities to extend essential healthcare access to the people who need it most. Medtronic and the Medtronic Foundation collaborate with local and global partners to accelerate our effort and focus strategic investments on underserved communities.

Partnership is the key to unlocking the value of our philanthropic investments. We work with local stakeholders to meet their health challenges by providing charitable contributions (financial and product donations), community volunteering, and charitable third-party medical education.

Cash contributions — providing funding for medical professionals and fellowship positions, clinical research grants, third-party-sponsored health education programs, and other health-related activities
Medtronic Foundation grant-making — working to improve health for underserved populations worldwide and support communities where Medtronic employees live and give. Learn more about Medtronic Foundation
Product donations — working with global partners to distribute products to nonprofit organisations and in-country clinics and to support disaster-recovery effort
Employee volunteering — encouraging employees to give back to communities year-round by contributing their time, skills, and resources

PHILANTHROPY — Fiscal Year 2020 (FY20) HIGHLIGHTS

To date our philanthropic contributions total more than $1 billion, including our support of the Medtronic Foundation. Our strategic philanthropic giving helps us deliver on our Mission. In FY20, our contributions included:

$105.1 million in total giving between Medtronic and the Medtronic Foundation, including $18.5 million for COVID-19 relief efforts. Giving includes:
- Corporate cash donations of $56.4 million
- Medtronic Foundation giving of $34.2 million
- Product donations valued at $10.1 million
- Employee volunteering valued at $4.3 million
More than 14,000 Medtronic employees volunteered 170,000+ hours to charitable causes throughout the year
