Diversity Top 50

Medtronic Named to DiversityInc Top 50 Companies List

This is the company’s fourth time on the Top 50 list.

Minneapolis (April 20) - Each year, DiversityInc announces its annual list of the top companies that are leaders in diversity and inclusion. Announced this week, Medtronic was ranked #50 out of more than 1,800 participating companies.

The Top 50 list is determined based on data submitted by participating organisations with at least 1,000 employees. Companies on the Top 50 list demonstrate their leadership in four key areas: Talent Pipeline, Equitable Talent Development, CEO/Leadership Commitment, and Supplier Diversity.

With a strong commitment from Chairman and CEO, Omar Ishrak, and the company’s entire Executive Committee, Medtronic is proud of the progress being made.

Carol Surface, Medtronic Chief Human Resources Officer, confirms that, “As a world leader in medical technology, services and solutions, Medtronic is committed to global diversity and inclusion in our workplace. This focus is consistent with the fifth tenet of our Mission – to recognise the personal worth of all employees — enabling us to better serve our patients, partners, and customers.”

Medtronic is working to engage employees at all levels of the organisation to ensure an inclusive and diverse culture. The company launched a formal Diversity Network structure two years ago, which includes a global Medtronic Women’s Network with more than 60 hubs around the world, and U.S.-based networks representing Asian, African, and Hispanic/Latino descent employees. Medtronic also has numerous employee resource groups (ERGs) to support local communities and cultures.
