Indications, Safety, and WarningsIndications/intended purposeThe Veriset™ hemostatic patch is indicated for use in surgical procedures (except neurological, orthopedic, ophthalmic, and respiratory) as an adjunct to hemostasis when the control of capillary, venous, and arteriolar bleeding by pressure, ligature or other conventional methods is ineffective or impractical.The device’s intended purpose is to serve as a hemostatic aid.Contraindictions No known contraindications exist. Review the instructions for use for applicable information to be shared with the patient. A patient implant card is included in the device package and contains identifying information about the implanted device. After device implant, complete the patient implant card, and provide it to the patient before they are discharged. Patients can access information about their device on the website that is listed on their patient implant card. Warnings

The Veriset™ hemostatic patch is provided sterile. Reuse, reprocessing, and/or resterilization of this device may create the risk of contamination, patient infection, permanent impairment, or life-threatening injury. Do not reuse, reprocess, or resterilize this device. Sterile unless packaging has been opened or damaged. Dispose of used devices and unused devices with opened or damaged packaging in accordance with the end-user’s medical and biological waste disposal requirements.

The Veriset™ hemostatic patch should not be hydrated prior to application (e.g., water, blood, anti-infective agents).

The Veriset™ hemostatic patch is not approved as an antibiotic medication or antimicrobial device. Although Veriset™ hemostatic patch has been demonstrated in vitro to be bactericidal against a wide range of pathogenic microorganisms, it is not intended as a substitute for systematically administered therapeutic or prophylactic antimicrobial agents to control or prevent post-operative infections.

The Veriset™ hemostatic patch has not been tested in dental procedures.

Intended users are healthcare professionals who have been trained in applicable surgical procedures and approaches involving hemostatic agents prior to employing this device.

Precautions

The Veriset™ hemostatic patch is not intended as a substitute for meticulous surgical technique and/or the proper use of other conventional hemostatic techniques.

The Veriset™ hemostatic patch may swell up to 50% in any one dimension when hydrated. Care should be taken when applied in confined bony spaces.
