European Obesity Day (EOD) brings together people, like you, who are committed to helping change lives and to making a difference. EOD is designed to raise awareness of obesity and the many other diseases on which it impacts, and we need YOU to help us do that. With your support we can help to improve the prevention and treatment of obesity, ultimately improving the health and quality of life of those who are living with it.
The European Association of the Study of Obesity initiated this campaign to increase knowledge and understanding of the need for action at both European and national levels to improve prevention, treatment and care. Supporting European citizens who are overweight or have obesity lies at the core of this initiative, and having you on board helps us make a difference and reduce stigma.
This year EOD is on Saturday, 18 May and the theme is:
Treating obesity to create societal and health benefits.
As a leading provider of medical devices, research and expertise in obesity, Medtronic is very proud to be one of the major sponsors of EOD. As a Europewide event, EOD offers an excellent opportunity for Medtronic to help bring together experts, patients and policymakers to draw attention in particular to the need for treatment in order to tackle Europe’s growing obesity epidemic. All Medtronic teams across Europe are in gear, working very hard with their local hospitals, healthcare professionals, patients, policymakers and media to host activities such as hospital and clinic open days, seminars and policy roundtables to raise awareness around EOD. We hope you will join us and be part of these initiatives!
