Istituto Dermopatico dell’Immacolata (IDI)

Rome, Italy

Istituto Dermopatico dell’Immacolata (IDI), a leading dermatology-focused hospital and research institute in Rome, partnered with Medtronic Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) in 2017 to modernize equipment and reduce operating costs. By 2023, the collaboration evolved into a broader operational excellence initiative focused on optimizing operating room performance and resource allocation.

The Heart Center collaborated with Medtronic IHS to generate results across more than 40 projects. Processes have been optimized and there have been many efficiency gains that are directly impacting patients. On the employee engagement side, care workers know that their efforts are creating better patient outcomes and less frustration. Building on the success of these 40+ projects, Medtronic IHS is providing support as the Heart Center reassesses its five-year strategy.

As a result of this partnership, the hospital achieved a 13% cost reduction year-over-year and eliminated surgery cancellations due to material or equipment unavailability. Administrative workload was significantly reduced, and the hospital expanded its service offerings. Overall, the partnership led to a 40% increase in procedures.

IHS services and solutions have ensured the timely availability of materials for surgical procedures and, consequently, adherence to the surgical schedule, benefiting our patients and healthcare staff.
