For: Clinicians who have an interest in learning more about utilizing ITB Therapy with Lioresal® Intrathecal (baclofen injection) for managing severe spasticity in their practice.
Objective: To demonstrate the potential value of ITB Therapy for patients who are experiencing severe spasticity and may be candidates for the therapy.
Description: This course defines and describes spasticity, reviews common etiologies associated with spasticity, describes the advantages and disadvantages of spasticity, and describes how ITB Therapy can be utilized as a treatment for severe spasticity. This course also provides information on indications, contraindications, benefits, and risks associated with ITB Therapy.
For: Clinicians who are considering managing, implanting, or referring patients for ITB Therapy with Lioresal® Intrathecal (baclofen injection).
Objective: To demonstrate how to assess a patient for ITB Therapy, describe patient selection guidelines, and describe an ITB Therapy screening test.
Description: The first module provides an introduction to assessing spasticity. The second module reviews patient selection criteria for ITB Therapy and the ITB Therapy screening test. This course also provides information on indications, contraindications, benefits, and risks associated with ITB Therapy.
For: Clinicians who are considering managing, implanting, or referring patients for ITB Therapy with Lioresal® Intrathecal (baclofen injection).
Objective: To review the SynchroMed™ II infusion system components used for delivering ITB Therapy, and to describe the implant procedure for the SynchroMed™ II system.
Description: The first module describes the device components that are used to deliver ITB Therapy to patients, including the SynchroMed™ II infusion pump, intrathecal catheters, and the Clinician Programmer. The second module reviews the SynchroMed™ II infusion system implant procedure and post-operative considerations.
For: Clinicians interested or currently involved in managing and/or refilling the SynchroMed™ II infusion system.
Objective: Establish a foundation for the safe and effective way to refill the SynchroMed™ II infusion system.
Description: This course guides the clinician through the step-by-step process of refilling the SynchroMed™ II infusion system.
