Precise ETT airway monitoring didn’t exist— until now.

The SonarMed™ airway monitoring system is the only endotracheal tube (ETT) airway monitor to provide real-time visualizations at the bedside for accurate, informed troubleshooting, which may save precious time and help reduce unplanned extubations (UEs).

Indications, Safety, and Warnings

Meet the SonarMed™ airway monitoring system

The SonarMed™ airway monitoring system provides real-time, actionable information to help you decide if an endotracheal tube intervention is needed, and whether it’s successful.

SonarMed™ system wins NICU innovation award

The SonarMed™ system received the Frost & Sullivan’s 2022 North American New Product Innovation Award for its NICU patient impact and new technology features to improve patient safety.

Hear from our customers

"SonarMed™ gives our providers so much more information to adequately care for that baby … [It really] gives the parents confidence that ‘I can hold my child without harming my child.’ And that is more empowering than anything else."

Dr. Jawad Javed
Medical Director and Division Head of Neonatology at OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois

"The SonarMed™ system has really allowed us to confidently do more kangaroo care with parents. We know kangaroo care is very important, especially for our smallest babies.”

Dr. Ashley Fischer
Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Quality Improvement Director at Children’s of Illinois, OSF

"With SonarMed™ we can be proactive. We’ve been watching our unplanned extubation rate just go lower and lower and lower. We’re very optimistic and enthusiastic.”

Dr. Jawad Javed
Medical Director and Division Head of Neonatology at OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois

A sensitive solution

Continuously shows ETT position and patency

Easy-to-read screen displays any status changes of the ETT and monitors the correction of the tube to the optimal baseline position.

Noninvasive options for ETT

Uses acoustic technology, which is less disruptive than chest X-rays or opening the isolette during every assessment. It also notifies you about ETT movement to help facilitate kangaroo care.

Supports an enhanced standard of care

Timely notifications and specific measurements allow for a coordinated response to address potentially critical events, such as tube movement, occlusion, or airway obstruction.

See the cost savings

The SonarMed™ airway monitoring system helps you reduce UEs. Use our savings calculator to estimate your department cost savings when preventing unplanned extubations.

Endotracheal tube monitoring helps:

Protect
patients

1 in 5 patients are impacted by unplanned extubations.

Reduce
interruptions

Remote monitoring reduces the need to disturb patients to check on their condition. This allows more time for uninterrupted sleep and development.

Know
unknowns

Real-time data at the bedside displays the percentage and location of any obstruction within the ETT and indicates if removal efforts were successful.

Decrease
costs

UEs in the NICU may lead to higher costs (between $20K–$50K per patient).1
