ProGrip™ Self-Gripping Polyester Mesh

Product Details

ProGrip™ self-gripping mesh — a proven technology in tissue reinforcement for nearly a decade — is now helping prevent hernias after laparotomies.([FOOTNOTE=Blazquez Hernando LA, Garcıa-Urena MA, Lopez-Monclus J, et al. Features

We want to help patients avoid the pain of incisional hernias, and save healthcare systems the time and expense of having to treat them. ProGrip™ self-gripping poluester mesh does both.

ProGrip™ self-gripping mesh:

Provides immediate tension-free fixation on the entire surface of the mesh — and offers surgical efficiencies and patient benefits.([FOOTNOTE=Hopson SB, Miller LE. Open ventral hernia repair using ProGrip™ self-gripping mesh. Int J Surg. 2015;23(Pt A):137–140.],[ANCHOR=],[LINK=]),([FOOTNOTE=Kapischke M, Schulze H, Caliebe A. Self-fixating mesh for the Lichtenstein procedure: a prestudy. Langenbecks Arch Surg. 2010;395(4):317–322. This study was conducted with Parietene ProGrip™ mesh.],[ANCHOR=],[LINK=])

It does this by combining monofilament polyester with a resorbable polylactic acid (PLA) microgrip technology. So surgeons get immediate fixation that is strong, durable, and comfortable4,([FOOTNOTE=Hollinsky C, Kolbe T, Walter I, et al. Comparison of a new self-gripping mesh with other fixation methods for laparoscopic hernia repair in a rat model. J Am Coll Surg. 2009;208(6):1107– 1114. Semi-Resorbable Mesh

Fifty percent of material left after PLA absorption([FOOTNOTE=Based on internal test report #RAT021, PLA degradation report. 2014],[ANCHOR=],[LINK=])

Macroporosity

Favors better tissue integration and supports a lower foreign body reaction ([FOOTNOTE=Weyhe D, Cobb W, Lecuivre J, et al. Large pore size and controlled mesh elongation are relevant predictors for mesh integration quality and low shrinkage: systematic analysis of key parameters of meshes in a novel minipig hernia model. Resorbable Microgrips

Provide immediate fixation with limited need for additional fixation1,3,([FOOTNOTE=Verhelst J, de Goede B, Kleinrensink GJ, Jeekel J, Lange JF, van Eeghem KH. Parietex ProGrip™ Self-Fixating Mesh

Product Details

Parietex ProGrip™ self-fixating mesh delivers security, patient comfort and ease of use. Its advanced microgrip technology provides immediate fixation([FOOTNOTE=Data on file.],[ANCHOR=],[LINK=]) of the entire mesh surface for a secure repair and even distribution of tension for patient comfort. Designed for ease of use, the resorbable polylactic acid (PLA) microgrips enable surgeons to position and place the mesh in under 60 seconds([FOOTNOTE=Philippe Chastan, MD (2006). “Tension-Free Open Inguinal Hernia Repair Using an Innovative Self-Gripping Semi-Resorbable Mesh.” Journal of Minimal Access Surgery; pp 139-43.],[ANCHOR=],[LINK=]), without the use of additional fixation([FOOTNOTE=Additional fixation is at the surgeon’s discretion.],[ANCHOR=],[LINK=]). Surgeons and patients can depend on a secure repair with the potential for greater patient comfort.

All Parietex™ products are created from a macroporous polyester material which produce superior cellular proliferation when compared to polypropylene mesh in vitro.([FOOTNOTE=Lefranc, O., Codoro, C., Vernier, A., Hadba, A., Gravagna, P. and Therin, M. Parietex™ Optimized Composite (PCOx) Mesh

Product Details

Parietex™ Optimized Composite (PCOx) mesh offers a resorbable collagen barrier on one side to limit visceral attachments and a three-dimensional polyester knit structure on the other to promote differentiated tissue ingrowth and ease of use.

Based on the proven performance of original PCO, PCOx is the next generation of Parietex™ Composite mesh. It is engineered to better address surgeon and patient needs in laparoscopic ventral hernia repair. The new design incorporates a more resistant barrier and a proprietary textile design with better visibility and increased strength([FOOTNOTE=“Comparative study of textile tear and suture strength: Parietex™ Optimized Composite vs Parietex™ Composite.” Covidien internal test report 1003CR053.],[ANCHOR=],[LINK=]).

PCOx mesh promotes rapid abdominal wall integration([FOOTNOTE=Evaluation of the local tissue effects and tissue attachment minimization in a rat caecal adhesion model. BioMatech (NAMSA), France.],[ANCHOR=],[LINK=]), minimizes visceral attachments([FOOTNOTE=Gonzalez et al. Parietex™ Optimized Composite Open Skirt (PCO OSx) Mesh

Product Details

Parietex™ Optimized Composite Open Skirt (PCO OSx) mesh provides a new level of control during open ventral hernia repair. The open skirted (OS) design has increased rigidity for easier handling during implantation in open incisional and ventral hernia repair.

The skirted flap on the parietal side of the mesh allows for more easily accessible fixation points in the open approach. The skirt provides an area of fixation protected from the viscera on one side and allows fixation to the abdominal wall without disrupting the collagen film.
