Kyphon™ inflatable bone tamps (IBT), or orthopaedic balloons, are available for use with 8 and 10ga introducers in three lengths — 10mm, 15mm, and 20mm — to address differing vertebral anatomy.

These syringes are used to inflate IBTs to reduce fractures and create a void in the vertebral body during balloon kyphoplasty procedures.
This syringe is compatible with all Kyphon™ IBTs.
Inflation Syringe (A08E)
This syringe is not compatible with the Kyphon™ Xpander II or Express II 700 psi-rated IBTs.

The complication rate with Kyphon™ Balloon Kyphoplasty has been demonstrated to be low. There are risks associated with the procedure (e.g., cement extravasation), including serious complications, and through rare, some of which may be fatal.
